General Steps to Plan a Build with LPPSA Financing

Four general steps. The actual order and requirements are set by LPPSA.

  1. 1

    Check Eligibility with LPPSA

Refer to LPPSA for eligibility, financing type and required documents before you sign any contract.

  2. 2

    Prepare Design and Quotation

Ask for a written quotation that states the scope and price, so you can compare it with the amount approved by LPPSA.

  3. 3

    Apply for Financing from LPPSA

The application is submitted to LPPSA following their procedure. Approval and timing are decided by LPPSA.

  4. 4

    Construction and Payment

LPPSA Financing FAQ

Do I really not pay anything upfront?+
We do not promise 'no deposit'. Whether an initial payment or other fee is needed depends on your LPPSA financing terms and your contract with the contractor. Read your LPPSA offer letter and the written quotation carefully, and ask LPPSA if in doubt.
Who counts as a civil servant for LPPSA?+
The definition and eligible position categories are set by LPPSA. Check at lppsa.gov.my or with LPPSA.
How long does LPPSA approval take?+
The approval time is determined by LPPSA and depends on how complete the application is. Ask LPPSA for the current expected time before planning your construction schedule.
What if the land is jointly owned with my spouse?+
The conditions for joint ownership and signing requirements are set by LPPSA. Ask LPPSA and your lawyer before proceeding.
Can I add my own savings to LPPSA financing?+
You can fund part of the cost from other sources, but whether this is allowed alongside your LPPSA financing must be confirmed with LPPSA. Make sure the written contract clearly states the scope and payment for each part.
What happens to repayments if I retire or leave service?+
This is governed by your financing agreement with LPPSA. Refer to LPPSA for the official explanation.
